Astrology of february 2019

February 2019 is marked by Chiron’s entrence into Aries. Chiron enters Aries and will stay there until 2027.

This is an unusually long transit for Chiron. Chiron spends almost 8 years in Aries. That’s longer than a Uranus transit. For comparison, Chiron spends less than 2 years in Libra. That’s less than a Saturn transit.

Chiron spends so much time in Aries because he has a lot of work to do here. Aries is our identity. Chiron is the wounded healer. In Aries, Chiron aims to heal the deepest wound of them all: our identity wound.

What does it mean for you? Chiron leaves a part of your chart and moves into an area perhaps unexplored until now. Chiron in Aries will show you which area of yourself you need to heal so that you can become whole again.

Another important energy to work with is Venus’ journey through Capricorn. In February, Venus will make conjunctions with Saturn, Pluto and the South Node - all in Capricorn.

While Aries is the sign of the individual “I am because I am”, Capricorn is the sign of the society “I become who I’m meant to become”.

Venus in Capricorn is “I’ve tried my best”, while Chiron in Aries shows that there is more work to be done.

This work has nothing to do with what the world wants from you. It has to do with healing your sense of identity.

You are exactly who you were meant to be. You are at the right place. Your existence is no accident. You are here for a reason.

In February, Chiron in Aries will ask you to focus on YOU while slowly shedding off layers and layers of social conditioning (Venus in Capricorn).

While the first half of the month is less eventful, things start to precipitate around February 18th, when Chiron enters Aries, while Venus, half-way through her journey in Capricorn conjoins Venus, and Sun enters Pisces, opening up new avenues of awareness and understanding.

But let’s see what the major astrological events are in February:

February 3rd, 2019 - Venus Enters Capricorn

On February 3rd, 2019 Venus, the goddess of beauty and love enters Capricorn. Capricorn is associated with our potential, with our highest achievements, with what we aim to achieve in this lifetime. Capricorn is the sign of perfection.

Just as the goat aims to reach the top of the mountain, Capricorn is a metaphor for our journey to reach perfection. Because Venus rules love, relationships and beauty, when in Capricorn, we want perfect love, perfect relationships, perfect beauty.

Our standards are higher than ever. And this time, we will actively try to reach them - Capricorn is a cardinal sign, after all. Venus in Capricorn is a go-getter.

She doesn’t seek perfection for the sake of perfection - she looks for substance, quality and real value. Capricorn is also a feminine Earth sign. This means that Venus goes for what she wants in a subtle and sensual manner.

In the next three weeks go for quality over quantity. Go for substance over flash. Right now, love is a marathon, not a sprint.

If you have Venus in Capricorn in your natal chart, you will have your Venus return. Watch out for what happens around the date when transit Venus is conjunct your natal Venus; this will give you a glimpse into what to expect when it comes to love, partnerships, money and finances in the next 18 months.

February 4th, 2019 - New Moon In Aquarius

On February 4th, 2019 we have a New Moon at 15° Aquarius. This New Moon is conjunct Mercury and sextile Jupiter. The New Moon only forms positive, supporting aspects, making it one of the most auspicious New Moons of the year.

If you plan a big project for 2019, this is your New Moon! If you start something now, you will have a higher likelihood to succeed.

The New Moon in Aquarius will transit a particular area of your chart, meaning it will influence a particular area of your life.

That’s where you want to start something new. Does the New Moon fall in your 6th house? Time to start a diet or a health routine. Does it fall in your 9th house? Time to apply for that course that will open new horizons for you. Does it fall in your 10th house? Time to advance your career.

February 10th, 2019 - Mercury enters Pisces

On February 10th, 2019 Mercury enters Pisces. In Pisces, Mercury becomes imaginative and inspired, and so does your mind.

A record number of artists have been born with Mercury in Pisces and that’s because when in Pisces, Mercury can pick up on thoughts, vibes and nuances that it cannot pick up when in other signs.

Do you have a creative project? The next weeks are a great time to (re)discover the artist within.

February 13th, 2019 - Mars Conjunct Uranus

On February 13th, 2019 Mars is conjunct Uranus at 29° Aries. 29° is an ending degree. Aries is the sign of identity. Mars is the planet of action. Uranus is the planet of freedom and liberation.

Mars conjunct Uranus in Aries will ask you to come to terms with who you are. You will finally see yourself for who really are, behind the mask.

Happy with what you see? Show it to the world!

Not happy? Take action, but not just the same type of action you’ve always taken. Uranus will lift you up, it will inspire you. It will show you what’s possible. Take inspired action. Are you ready for the 2.0 version of yourself?

February 14th, 2019 - Mars enters Taurus

On Valentine’s day, Mars enters Taurus. Mars is the planet of action. Taurus is a Venus sign, and Venus is all about love and relationships.

If you’re single, Valentine’s day may prompt you to take initiative (Mars), so that you can meet your love and relationship needs (Taurus).

February 18th, 2019 - Chiron Enters Aries

February 18th, 2019 is by far the most eventful day of the month. One of the most significant transits of the year - Chiron in Aries - happens today, exactly at the time Venus conjoins Saturn at 16° Capricorn. A few hours later, Sun leaves Aquarius to enter Pisces.

Chiron in Aries is a big deal, even if Chiron would prefer to remain unnoticed. Especially when he travels through the sign of identity (Aries). Chiron is the wound that never heals - at least, not with the orthodox Saturnian approaches -, and whenever it’s triggered, it brings shame, guilt and feelings of worthlessness.

In Aries, Chiron feels exposed. If in the deep waters of Pisces, he remained pretty much undetected, but in Aries, he has no choice but to come out of hiding. But that’s why you bring something into your awareness, so you can finally deal with it.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” - Carl Jung

February 19th, 2019 - Full Moon In Virgo

On February 19th, 2019 we have a Full Moon at 0° Virgo. The Full Moon is trine Uranus at 29° Aries and quincunx Chiron at 0° Aries.

This Full Moon is very Aries-like. Chiron is at 0° Aries, Uranus at 29° Aries. Chiron’s work on healing the identity is just beginning (0° Aries). Uranus (the higher manifestation of Chiron) is at 29° Aries, teasing us with the promise of freedom. That type of freedom that comes when we truly understand who we are.

How can we heal our wound of identity (Chiron in Aries) so we can liberate ourselves (Uranus at 29° Aries)?

Through Virgo. Virgo is the sign that aims to reconcile the matter and the spirit, in the same way, Chiron, the half-man, half-horse Centaurus, aims to reconcile his animal side and his human side. At the time of this lunation, become aware of these two separate parts of yourself. You are you, half-God, half-animal. You are a human.

February 23rd, 2019 - Venus Conjunct Pluto

On February 23rd, 2019 Venus is conjunct Pluto at 22° Capricorn. Venus conjunct Pluto will bring intense emotions and strong attraction. Touched by Pluto, Venus knows how to use her power to get what she wants.

Pluto distills the qualities of Venus. In Capricorn, Venus and Pluto want to reach the heights of beauty and love. Right now, you want nothing but the best – the most beautiful partner, the most successful relationship, the best status.

February 26th, 2019 - Venus Conjunct South Node

On February 26th, 2019 Venus is conjunct the South Node of the Moon at 25° Capricorn. In February 2019, Venus was on a mission. On a mission to find ‘perfect’ love.

By now, your heart would have learned that there is no such thing as perfection. But the never-ending journey of trying to find this perfection, the endless climb to the top is totally worth the time, the pain and the effort. The scenery has changed. Life is not what it used to be.

Without even noticing, you have become a better human being.
